Daje! Sì, oggi ci sta proprio bene.

YAY! Yes today I was really happy.

Espressione che da qualche tempo avevo iniziato ad usare con i miei amici di Milano (a causa di “contaminazioni” vicine) ed ormai è diventato un grido quotidiano, attorniata come sono da romanacci incalliti. Vabbè!
Sì ci sta, perché il progetto “raccontare per raccontarsi – 100 obiettivi” ha dato alla luce i primi scatti.
Spieghiamoci: abbiamo selezionato in tutto … con il prezioso aiuto di Deepu … (boss vero ed ineffabile) ed oggi, dopo una brevissima spiegazione, alle bimbe della materna, abbiamo messo in mano le macchine fotografiche.

It’s an expression that I’ve started using not long ago with my friends in Milan (because of nearby influences) and now it’s become an everyday expression, since I am surrounded be romans. But it’s ok! It’s fitting because the project “to tell a story to tell one’s story- 100 lenses” gave birth to its first pictures. Let’s explain ourselves: we selected in total… with the precious help of Deepu (great and true boss) and today after a story explanation, we gave the cameras to the girls of the elementary school.

Volevamo solo mostrare loro come tenerle in mano, come premere il pulsante e farle provare un po’ lì attorno. Ed invece, incredibile, si sono guardate attorno, un pò impacciate per solo pochi minuti, alcune con le spalle tese, alcune che non riuscivano a non mettere le mani sull’obiettivo. Ma poi hanno colto gesti e situazioni ingenue, spontanee, potenti.

We just wanted to show them to to hold them and how to press the button so they could try them a little. But incredibly they looked around, a little confused but just for a few minutes, some with the tension in their shoulders, others who weren’t able to hold the lenses. But then they captured gestures and naive pictures, spontaneous and very powerful.

Che gioia, grande!
Abbiamo pensato di mostrarvene solo alcune, perché ci teniamo a condividere l’emozione.

What a great joy! We decided to show you some of them, because we would like to share this great emotion.

Qualche dettaglio: senza Pinky … che dal mio inglese traduceva in hindi e viceversa tutto sarebbe stato un pò più complicato.

A few details: without Pinky that translated from my English to Hindi e backwards everything would have been much more complicated.

Senza Angelo (presenza rassicurante) non sarei riuscita a gestire 9 bambine in fibrillazione: lui pacato e sorridente è riuscito a spiegare loro l’uso di lunghezze focali diverse senza far usare loro lo zoom (tanto lo scopriranno da sole se ne avranno bisogno).

Without Angelo (reassuring presence) I wouldn’t have been able to handle 9 excited little girls: he was calm and smiling while explaining how to you the different focal lenses without using the zoom (that the girls will figure out on their own if they need it).

Senza Gloria che faceva da reporter insieme a Emanuela non avrei potuto capire come siamo stati capaci di coinvolgerle così.

Without Gloria that was reporting everything together with Emanuela I wouldn’t have understood how we were able to involve them so much.

Secondo noi, ne vedremo davvero di tutti i colori!
Daje, appunto!
